930 Hotrod Project


This 930 Turbo is being backdated to take on the looks of the earlier pre '74 cars, this involves changing the front end panels, and bumpers, getting all trim chromed or anodised and giving the interior a more period feel.

The car as is it arrived

Striped down

And blasted

The usual rust revealed

New panels welded in.

Bumper trial fitted

2.8RSR arches fitted front and rear.

Older style front panel fitted

Shroud made for front oil cooler

Underside striped of all underseal

Epoxy primed and panel edges sealed

Shell in primer

Trial fit of aluminium bonnet

Opening made for fuel filler

Body colour (chartreuse a period '73 911 colour) applied to inside and underside.

And finally the shell is painted.

Brakes reconditioned

Pedal box rebuilt

New fuel pumps

Front struts converted to coilovers

Rear suspension assembled

Steeing column rebuilt with new bearings

Heat shield fitted to the rear bumper to protect from heat generated by the turbo

Modern blade type fuse board with integrated headlight relays installed

Led High level third brake light installed

New wiring looms and fuel lines fitted

New brake lines throughout

Oil cooler pipes installed

Refurbished original badge

Custom key ring

Door frames fitted and sealed

NOS 70's mirrors fitted

New headlining

Dash fitted

Custom door straps made

Custom seats, Period Recaro Rallye III trimed in connolly bull hide with a period Porsche tartan and heated elements

Embossed Recaro Logo

Remaining interior trimmed to match.

Alloys with custom finish

Michelin TB15 tyres

Tank vent system installed with carbon filter

Custom fuel filler neck installed

Lights fitted

Getting ready to install engine and gearbox

Engine mated with the Shortened Bell Housing G50 gearbox using a light weight clutch and flywheel.
